Berit Bellanca means
"Gorgeous Blonde." Berit truly is that. |

She also has another claim
to fame. |

Berit loves all things
cedar. She lives at Cedar Camp, and inside her
cedar log home (shown here), she collects
everything she can find to compliment the lovely
wood. |
|

Berit also loves the great
outdoors, which is why she built her house close
to Horseshoe Lake... |

...right on the shore... |

...where there's a great
view. |
|

Berit also enjoys being able
to see her friend Emily Gingham's home directly
across the lake. |

Here's a detail shot of the log
construction of her home.

As you can see, this is a
multi-split-level home, with lots of wood and
lots of light. Note that the chimney matches the
foundation.

Looking through the front
loft window, you can see one of the
splits...from this little cubbyhole, up into
Berit's warm, lovely bedroom. This is the TV
nook.

Here's what it looks like
from above. Notice that the glass steps are
cedar-colored, like everything else in the
house. (Numenor's recolourable stairs made this
possible.) At the top of the stairs, there are
several clear fence panels that have also been
recolored to cedar tones.

*If you download any
one
of the lot files (above)
you will get both the Wooden

You won't have to download
anything else, unless
you also want the Wrought Iron

the stairs will have

Just use the Design Tool,
click on each step,

The pictures on the wall are
part of an entire "Fire In the Night" series that Berit owns. They are all photos of either the
aurora borealis, sunrises, or sunsets. Here you
can also see the view out to the front sidewalk.

Just a few steps up from the
TV nook, we find Berit's double bed with its
gold and burgundy coverlet. The round, fluffy
rug on the floor echoes the same colors, as do
the lacy curtains on the cedar-framed windows.

The other side of the
bedroom holds Berit's dresser, a sofa, another
special rug, and a beautiful fireplace, with
another "Fire In the Night" painting above the
mantel, and yet another one on the wall by the
window. Berit also has an extensive wall-rug and
tapestry collection. Here you can see one of her
favorite tapestries hanging beside the bed.

The upstairs bedroom
features another, smaller round rug in rich red
tones. Notice the golds and reds of the rest of
the bathroom accessories, as well. The small
square bathmat is an expanded version of the
small white one that Berit originally bought.
The towels and racks have been painstakingly
matched to the other items, as have the
wall-sconce lights.

Going out of the upstairs
bathroom, there's a small hallway (partially
covered with another one of Berit's fantastic
rug collection), that leads to a little reading
and office area. All the furniture, including
the piano is coordinated. The chairs were
purchased locally, but the piano was
specially-surfaced for Berit. The computer is
orange, as are the curtains--bringing out yet another of
the cedar panel colors. The bookcases (though stock
items) are cedar-colored also, and the wall hangings complete
the ensemble.

Here's the view down the
split staircase. Notice again, the cedar-colored
glass steps--pretty neat!

The deck overlooks the terraced
swimming pool... |

...and the little
observation decks that are connected to the house
by stairs...just out of view here, to the left
and "down." Berit likes to practice her chess
out here on the covered deck. She also loves
this vase filled with grasses that matches her
cedar tastes. |

This view again shows the
split from the upstairs TV nook that sits above
the front porch--perched between the top of the
living room and the bottom of the bedroom,
height-wise. |
|

The specially-crafted vases
on this little shelf caused by the split-level,
are lit from within, causing a lovely ambient
glow in the living room. Also, the special
lighting throughout the house focuses on the
wall-rugs and tapestries. Here's the main
floor's fireplace, and you can see into the
dining area, too. The kitchen is situated just
under the upper deck.

Here's the front porch,
directly under the TV nook. Isn't this a lovely
inviting area in which to spend a summer
afternoon? Notice the cedar log columns, which
are featured throughout this lot.

The brick of the all the
pathways around the house match the driveway
brick. The picket fence is not the boring white
that some of Berit's neighbors have...it's also
made of cedar! The little lanterns are stock
items, but they are perfectly-colored for this
home.

Due to the many large panes
of glass used throughout the house and carport,
the lighting at night is particularly effective.

The front of the lower floor
contains the living room--bright and cozy with
more coordinating furnishings and curtains. The
computer in this room matches the red tones in
the cedar.

color-coordinated pots! Don't you just love that
large carpet on the wall to the right of the
hallway arch?

Situated under the main
stairway, the downstairs bathroom is bright and
sunny with yet more cedar-coordinated
accessories. Both the small round rug and the
bathmat actually have a cedar-grain look, yet
they are soft and fluffy.
The tubs, showers, sinks, and toilets have
plenty of color choices and combinations.

Here's the wonderful kitchen
at night, with all the lights on. Wow! Berit has
obviously searched far and wide to find not only
a red microwave, but a red boombox and red
blender as well...not to mention the red range,
fridge, and sink! Oh...the counter tops match
the cedar plank floors in the dining room, too.

Here are the observation
decks--one of which is equipped for stargazing
as well as lake-gazing. |
|

Here's what they look like
with the roofs in view. |

The small swimming pool had
to be built on a hill. There isn't much space
between the carport and the main house, but
Berit managed to construct this unique, layered
pool, in which she loves to spend her time. |

The rock wall around the
pool matches the slate of the foundation and the
chimney. |
|

When Berit parks her car, she can
get out and go right down to the pool, if she prefers. |

Here's a daytime shot of the
view from the carport. From this view, you can
also see the split of the kitchen and deck, in
comparison to the upper floor that contains the
bedroom. |

I hope you have enjoyed your
tour of Berit's Cedar Camp. She's enjoyed
showing it off to you. |
