HOW TO INSTALL THE FIFTH-WHEEL CAMPER LOT This lot MUST be installed on a "beach-level" area that is flat and looks level with the neighboring lake or ocean. If you install it in an area that is above "sea level," the swimmable pool will WORK right, but it won't LOOK right. You could use the lot, but you would need to use some heavier terrain paints in the pool area, to make it look more real. The fun thing is that the water in this pool is REAL water...that was not put there with the water tool! It appears when you dig down into the land a few clicks, because the sandy beach area is barely above sea level--right on the tide flats. This lot was built in my Seaside Valley neighborhood which is fronted by a nice, warm bay, so I've called the resulting pool of water a "tidal pool." When Keith Wheeler and his friends and neighbors dive into the lovely little pool, they are actually swimming in WATER, because the water is taking the place of the lowest level of land in the pool. In most swimmable lakes or pools, you'd have to paint that lowest level of land to make it resemble water. In this case, I only used a minimum of terrain paints (mostly gravel and a little really dark water color) UNDER the real water, to give the pool a bit more character. Then I planted some marsh plants in the pool, surrounded it by a fence, and added a diving board and pool ladder. Success. So...the main thing to remember when installing the lot is to put it on a FLAT area located on the tide flats! If you have downloaded and are using the Hills and Valleys neighborhood, you'll see that the area where I put the fifth-wheel is NOT flat in the neighborhood as you know it! To solve that problem, I placed a larger lot which flattened out the hill, then I trashed that lot and installed the fifth-wheel in its place. |
