My
Story (02/22/07)
|
 |
 |
|
First
of all, the Snooker family mysteriously came into quite a bit of
money, and over the course of this "chapter," their house was
changed, expanded, repainted, and better-furnished, plus they got a
new car. Here's what the house looks like now. |
 |
 |
|
The
rosy exterior has been brightened a bit, and the same color added to
the walkways, the back deck, and the new driveway. The living room
has been extended out to the front porch , and the upstairs bedrooms
have been rearranged a bit, with two bathrooms added. Everything's
been freshened by new paint and wallpaper, and the house has been
partially refurnished with greater comfort in mind. |

While
all the work was in progress, life was in the neighborhood was also
proceeding. Here, Christy Sunner and Alec Gerard (soon to be
married) dropped by, along with the little Seed girl from right next
door. It was fairly early on a Sunday morning when the whole family
had been lazing around and was still in the PJs. Trying to give
everyone else time to get dressed, Remington greeted all the
neighbors out on the front lawn.
Unfortunately,
Christy may have still been carrying around some vestiges of the
dreaded Mysterious Disease, because shortly after Georgina greeted
her, SHE came down with it. Of course, Christopher still had it, so
he may have been the carrier who ultimately affected Georgina.
Still, Georgina left for work a bit later (stubborn lady), while
Christopher (who was almost better by then) and Alexis were away at
school. Remington needed to go to work, also, but hadn't yet
arranged for a nanny. For some reason, the first nanny he called
didn't show up right away, so he called the agency again. They sent
out a second nanny, who came immediately...WALKING onto the property
from somewhere close by! By the time Christopher and Alexis had
returned from school and Georgina had returned from work
(bringing--I think--Poppy Seed along with her), both nannies were
sitting around having coffee, since little Duncan had slept most of
the afternoon away in his crib. The nanny thing did sort itself out
the next day, and only the scheduled nanny showed up. However, it
seems SHE is the one who walks to work! |
 |
 |
|
Soon
Duncan hit toddler age--what a cutie pie! Remington adores his
younger boy, obviously. Since Georgina was supposed to rest, she and
Remington took advantage of that fact, and spent some time together
while the kids were sleeping. Soon another little Snooker was on the
way. Georgina continued to rest as much as she could, but she never
missed a day of work. Even at that (possibly because she's in pretty
good shape), she was soon completely well... |
 |
 |
|
...or
so they thought. Unfortunately, poor Georgina seems to be quite
susceptible to any last traces of the darned stuff, and since
Christopher was still fighting his FIRST (and thankfully only) round
with the Mysterious Disease, Georgina came down with it again. This
time, since she was also pregnant, the doctor INSISTED that she
spend the entire pregnancy in bed. She was very faithful to do that
(after a few times of being sent back to bed immediately as soon as
she stood up to go anywhere else in the house), and she spent most
of her pregnancy daydreaming of Remington and the rest of the
family.
Before long, little Christina made her appearance. Remington was at
work, but Christopher (who was well by then) and Alexis celebrated
the new member of the family right along with their mom.
Interestingly, the birth of the babe and Georgina's renewed healthy
status must have totally coincided, because from that point on she
never coughed again, and she never had any problems with sudden
weakness or any other signs of the Mysterious Disease. FINALLY...all
the members of the Snooker family were free of the health problems
that had plagued them since the very beginning of their sojourn to
Lovely Island! |
 |
 |
 |
 |
|
Remington
and Christopher spent much of their free time with little Duncan,
teaching
him all the skills he needed to get on with his little life. By the
time he start-ed getting into Alexis' pretty pink toybox, he had
already had one bottle of Smart Milk, and could walk very well. |
 |
 |
 |
 |
|
Remington decided Duncan should have another bottle of Smart Milk,
and then he began teaching him to talk. By then, Duncan was learning
things lickety split. After his most recent lessons, Duncan was
about to be bathed by Christopher, when an amazing series of events
began to take place. |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
Possibly because Duncan
started his grow-up spin at exactly the same time Christopher tossed
him in the air playfully, his growing up process became very
strange. As you can see from the first picture, his spin actually
took place in Christopher's arms, and he was kind of melded with
poor Christopher. Then he received his child's body, but ended up on
Christopher's head! Within a few minutes (as the rest of the family
and the nanny and a school visitor came running to see what the
hubbub was all about) Duncan slid down into Christopher's arms
again--just like when he was a toddler! |
|
Unfortunately, he was still
strangely melded with Christopher's body. In the last two pictures,
Christopher had tried to put Duncan down, with very strange results.
Poor Duncan became hysterical and tried frantically to reach behind
himself and cling to Christopher At this point, since the whole
family was becoming decidedly frantic up there in the master
bathroom, I decided that something must be done, so I tried the old
trash-the-Sim trick and exited (saving) to the neighborhood. |
 |
 |
|
When
I re-entered the household, Christopher was again normal, but Duncan
was not! He had obviously retained his child's body, but he
definitely had not yet attained the AGE of a child! It was really
rather endearing to watch Georgina lovingly cope with the strange
mixture of toddler and little boy that Duncan had become. I watched
this happen for quite some time before deciding that something must
be done. I tried the delete-exit-return trick one more time, but the
second picture here was taken after that (sigh). Poor little Duncan! |
 |
 |
 |
So...I took my heart in my
hands and turned on the testing cheats, searching for SOME way to
get Duncan back to normal. I found that there was something like a
"reset birthday" option, which I tried several times for Duncan with
no results (from the mailbox). Then (actually by mistake) I
shift-clicked on Duncan himself, and found a bunch MORE options that
I had never seen before. Once more I made the decision to just TRY
something. I figured I could always start playing the family over
again, from scratch. So I chose the "reset family" option. |
|
Suddenly
a box appeared around Duncan (who was out on the front lawn at that
time). As
he crawled out of the the strange white box, I desperately
left-clicked on him, and lo and behold, he had the grow-up option
again! Wondering if he would suddenly turn into a deformed teen or
something, I chose it, and BOING! Suddenly he was a normal little
boy!!! Hooray! I have no idea what I was SUPPOSED to do with that
box, so I just trashed it, and the family's life resumed normally,
as I turned off the testing cheats once again. Here you see Duncan
and Alexis playing on the sidewalk together.
After
all the furor died down, Christopher went to the phone and called a
taxi, taking himself off to college as he had intended to do right
after Duncan grew to child stage. He was very relieved that he
didn't have to stay home and help care for little Duncan, now that
there seemed to be no danger that Duncan would revert back to
toddlerhood! |
 |
 |
|
As
I left the Snookers to their now-normal life, Remington was being
the excellent father he'd always been, and Duncan and Alexis had
enjoyed their first school day together. When next I visit them,
Alexis will become a teen. It was the evening of her birthday, here.
I certainly hope HER grow-up day is nowhere near as eventful as
Duncan's was! |
