My
Story
|

 |
|
The
game didn't elicit the proposed decision. All it did was create more
tension than before. Jack had had a hard day, so he rather thumbed
his nose at Barley and Lemon, and just went on to bed...in Barley's
bed. Ignoring Barley, Lemon laid down on her bed, stubbornly denying
that there was any problem. By that time, she was upset with BOTH
men. |
 |
 |
 |
Left
to himself,
and
with no bed for himself, Barley spent some restless hours alone on
the first floor, painting, and watching TV. Thinking that maybe Jack
had woken up and left room in the second bed, he ran upstairs to
check, but...nope...both Jack and Lemon were sound asleep by that
time. |

|
Back
downstairs,
Jack lounged on the sofa for a while, then finally fell asleep.
First
thing in the morning, after Lemon and Jack had gone to work, Barley
made a decision. He went outside and started surveying the lot,
making plans for a basement addition, just in case Jack NEVER
decided to leave. |

By the time Jack and Lemon
returned home from work that evening, Barley had changed things very
nicely, so that he had his own suite in the basement, there was a
roomy deck out back, and even the upstairs bedroom now opened onto a
rooftop balcony. There were now TWO telescopes, and the easel had
been moved outdoors. Oh, and a greenhouse had been built for Lemon. |

Lemon
and Jack were ecstatic. Now they could pursue their relationship
without fear of totally alienating Barley, who was quite happy
himself, since he wouldn't be losing a sister, but probably gaining
a brother very soon.
After
spending a bit of time kissing and hugging with Jack out on their
new balcony, Lemon went right to work in her new greenhouse. Soon a
man from the Gardening Club dropped by, and Lemon applied for
membership. Within
just a short time, some of the other members of the club came over
to check out her progress, and soon gave her little project their
approval, along with some suggestions about making it even better.
Lemon was too tired to do anything about that right then, but Barley
was due home from work anyway. |
 |
 |
|
After
a nice dinner, the three of them decided to relax out on the new
deck, under the moonlight. Barley and Lemon played chess, and Jack
did some intense stargazing, as the three of them all honed their
logic skills. Lemon kept warning Jack about aliens, but since
nothing happened, he didn't really listen. |
 |
While
they were thus happily engaged, the weather pattern changed, and the
neighborhood became immersed in Fall (see the leaves around the
skill bars in the last photo above). By the the next morning, the
neighborhood trees looked like this. It should be noted that Barley
has turned out to be a bit of a womanizer who has already hit on two
neighborhood married women. Will Jack get abducted? Will Lemon keep
her greenhouse maintained? We'll have to find out in the next
"chapter." |
