Scenario

When Gretchen London made her two robots, little did she know they would fall in love. Although they were a great help to her business she decided to let them move out and get married. Now they are living in an ultra modern home that they love, they have reached the top of their careers as Captain Hero, and have realized their lifetime ambitions. What next for the high flying robot couple?

My Story (Spring 2007)

Rufus and Carrie London were made for each other. They couldn't be a more perfect couple.

They are also perfect apart from each other, having perfected their skills in every area. Unfortunately, this doesn't mean that they have no problems. For one thing, something has gotten mixed up regarding their lifetime goals. Supposedly Carrie has achieved a lifetime goal of becoming "Captain Hero," yet she now has a lifetime goal of becoming a criminal mastermind. Fortunately (or unfortunately, as the case may be), Rufus has the same goal! Now this should be interesting!

Because their lives would be pretty boring otherwise, both Rufus and Carrie decided to quit their old jobs and accept jobs as pickpockets. Now I wonder how they will fare in the neighborhood as they advance their new careers?

Getting up before dawn, Rufus spends time in his favorite place--the dance sphere.

Carrie enjoys catching a few fireflies, just as Rufus enters the house again to get ready for their new job...the carpool will be arriving any time now!

Both of the Londons have time to chat a bit with the newspaper girl--Viola Ebadi.

Then off they go to work--how exciting to get to go to work together!

At the end of their first day, they come home together--both with promotions, of course, since there's not a skill they don't already have, plus they already know almost everyone in the neighborhood!

They also bring home one of those friends--Dill Herb. Hmmm...I was thinking Dill had changed careers, but I guess not!

Though the Londons don't get hungry, both of them have learned to cook very well. Carrie has fixed Baked Alaska as a treat for Dill. Rufus tells Dill about all the other things they can cook.

After cleaning up the kitchen, Carrie makes a mistake. She feels attracted to Dill, and decides to test out her powers...

...with quite bad results. Dill is insulted, and Rufus gets very upset and tells Carrie in no uncertain terms just who her husband is, and where her loyalty lies!

While Rufus watches to make sure, Carrie apologizes to Dill, and Dill accepts.

"It's OK," Dill comforts Carrie. "You just need to remember that I'm a happily-married man, and you're a happily-married...well...female!"

Unfortunately, Rufus is unaware that he has now made Carrie quite upset with him. He goes to bed and sleeps soundly, but Carrie won't sleep in the same bed with him, and wants nothing more than to see him burn in a bonfire!

She hasn't really "learned her lesson" as Rufus thinks she has, and still has a mad crush on Dill, so she tells him so.

Shaking his head, Dill decides it's time for him to just go on home to his wife and family, leving Carrie still thinking of what could be...in her own imagination, anyway! She's actually quite mixed up, since all her wants are toward Rufus--not Dill! Maybe she's just using Dill to make Rufus notice her more!

When Rufus gets up to listen to the stereo with Carrie, she walks out in a huff, and goes to try to get some sleep. Now Rufus' thoughts are pretty messed up. On the one hand, he wants to kiss Carrie, or at least talk with her. On the other hand, he'd like to see her become a zombie. One thing he knows for sure, and that's that he'd really like to see Dill become a ghost! This does NOT bode well for their friendship!

The dance sphere sure gets a workout in this household!

Finally Carries gives in and joins Rufus in the living room, as they watch the TV and listen to the stereo at one time. They are so advanced they can do that without any confusion at all!

After a little time of relaxing together, Carrie invites Rufus to join her in a fancy dance.

Turning off the TV, he does, and their relationship seems to be back on an even keel.

Since they both have the day off, the Londons decide to go and see some of the places to have fun in the community.

Now this place looks interesting...but do robots swim? Well, evidently they do.

But...it sure takes a lot out of them!
Others from the neighborhood were having a great time socializing...
...while the Londons were still getting charged up.

Oh dear...this is not good! There are two Social Bunnies following two Servos into the elevators!!!

Ignoring the bunnies, the two Servos try to bring up their environmental awareness by cleaning up the restaurant kitchen!

Finally, though, they come together out on one of the verandah areas, and spend enough time talking that they become better socially adjusted once again. Now if they could just have some FUN!

So...what do you want to do?

Carrie runs to the pay phone to call for another cab. Surely there's a place where a Servo can have some FUN around here!

Aha! Here's something Servos can do...well...together...for FUN!

Good form, Carrie! The Londons are now almost fully restored.

As many of their neighbors join them at the bowling alley, the Londons just can't resist helping to clean up. It's quite apparent that they must keep up their own social lives together, because when the others are around, well...it's not so easy for them to socialize with another, obviously inferior species!

Rufus and Carrie spend enough time at the bowling alley to feel up to apologizing to each other, which makes them very happy again, at least for the moment!

The two head home again, just as day begins to break.

Unfortunately, even though the Londons SEEM individually restored and "healthy" again, their relationship is still at odds! They keep apologizing to each other, but it's going to take time. In the meantime, Ajax De'Grime walks by, and desperate for someone to talk to who understands him, Rufus runs out and introduces himself. Against all odds, the two start to become fast friends, almost immediately!

As the day fades, David Andersen drops by and spends time commiserating with Carrie, while Rufus is still hanging out with Ajax. This could mean another night spent sleeping in separate beds!

In the end, poor Carrie gets left to her own devices, while the three guys just continue to bond into the late night hours.

Unknown to Rufus, Carrie's loneliness has led her to doing something she may regret later. She has called the adoption agency, figuring that she and Rufus are just never going to get their relationship back together enough to...well...you know. Surprisingly, her request for a foundling to live with them has been granted immediately, and she's been informed that a social worker will deliver the adoptee early the next day. Carried decides NOT to tell Rufus until it becomes absolutely necessary.

On the other hand, remembering that both she and Rufus will have to go to work the next day shortly after the child will arrive, Carrie calls the local nanny agency. She's assured that there's no need for a nanny to be scheduled yet. She'll have to call again once the little one arrives. Oh, bother!

By this time, David has gone home, but Ajax is still hanging out with Rufus. The kitchen is beginning to look like Ajax' house!

After cleaning things up a bit Carrie tries to corner Rufus to apologize yet again, but he's too interested in looking out the window at the rain.

Oh dear, he has decided to to out in the middle of a thunder and lightning storm, to use the dance sphere. I would assume this could be quite dangerous!

Evidently not. In fact, the sphere may have simply shorted out. Rufus didn't get much of a thrill out of it at all! Finally he decides to join Carrie and Ajax for a few stale Christmas cookies. They obviously all have a preference for the stocky guy in the red suit!

Now THAT's interesting! Apparently splashing in mud puddles agrees with Servos MUCH better than swimming in pools! This is FUN!

Yup...it's a good thing there's an extra bedroom, because the Londons are still not on the best of terms, even though each has apologized to the other over and over again! At least Ajax gets the message and goes home--once Rufus and Carrie turn out the lights!

Once again the couple is up before dawn. This time Carrie--nervous about her adoption decision--runs out and gets into the dance sphere. Rufus spends a little time reading, just for fun.

While he's still reading, Carrie sneaks back into the house and places a special toybox in the extra room. There's not much in this house to interest a child, but at least it will have some toys!

A short while later, the social worker arrives with Cleve--appropriately officially named London already--the adoption agency is very efficient! They called Carrie just a few minutes before the arrival, just to make sure whether she wanted a baby, a toddler, or a child. Deciding she knew NOTHING about raising a baby or a toddler, she quickly chose the "child" option, and now here he was!

The social worker sent Cleve on ahead, and just inside the doors of his new home, he met Carrie.

They bonded immediately, and were soon dancing around the foyer together. Once the social worker saw that all was well, away she went in her van.

About that time, Rufus--wondering what all the commotion was about--came through the front door. Upon spotting Cleve dancing with Carrie, he immediately jumped to the wrong conclusion--this must be Dill's kid! Uh oh!

Carrie finally explains to Rufus what's going on, and though he's still upset with her...

...he can't resist the pull of the child, and soon he's dancing around with Cleve, also.

So...will Cleve help salvage Carrie's and Rufus' relationship with each other? Or will he and Carrie have to move out somewhere more conducive to raising a child--somewhere where there's not so much anger being focused on Carrie all the time? I wonder!
