All the original starters are in the A&B sections, with named streets.
All the step-ups are in the C&D sections, as close to the opposing diagonal quadrants as I can get.

*** Start Here, for Lot Downloads ***

This is a special neighborhood. You may use it any way you like, of course, but it has been constructed specifically for the Home Hunters Haven Project at the Neighborly Sims Forum.

This project will include two stages: (1) Starter Homes, and (2) Step-Up Homes.

STARTER HOMES...
We have been collecting a multitude of Starters from the Sims 2 community, with which to begin the first stage. All the starters that will be shown on an array of special pages--a page for each contributor, will be $20,000 or under. They will contain no Custom Content objects or recolors. They may, however, contain HomeCrafter CC. If you'd like to construct a Starter for the project, it should be on a 3x3 lot or smaller (though a few larger, already-created lots may be larger). The special mini-lots may be used. For the first stage, Starters should be play-tested, but the packaged files should not be occupied. This stage is starting now, and will be ongoing throughout the project.

STEP-UP HOMES...
We're asking you to download the Starter lots and do some personalized makeovers. These Starters are NOT "fixer-uppers." They're perfectly livable, and some of them have been created using the depreciation method, which means they are pretty snazzy! What we want you to do, though, is move in a Sim family (of any size). Then begin to add on to the house, personalize the lot, re-paint, re-floor, add curtains, change colors--do all the things YOU would do if you moved into a Starter home yourself! You may use cheats or not--your choice. If you're up to doing stories, we'd love to see some. You may take photos or not, as I'll be doing a set of photos for the Starters, and for the corresponding Step-Ups, so the comparisons can be easily made (see Triangle Lagoon for examples). If you really don't care for playing Sim families at all, it's OK to just change the house around, but still keep in mind that it's the kind of changes YOU would do if you moved into the home, that we're looking for. Also, we DON'T want these places to become great mansions. We DO want them to become medium-priced homes that could be resold by the occupying Sims for probably no more than 3x what the place was originally worth. Once again, no Custom Content objects or recolors may be used, but HomeCrafter CC is OK. This stage will begin as soon as the first Starters are posted to a Download page (keep watching), and will be ongoing throughout the project, as well.

NOTE 1: You may download any lot at any time, without becoming a member of the Neighborly Sims Forum. If you'd like to participate in either Stage 1 or Stage 2 of the project, though, you'll need to join, because the main collecting will be done through the forum. Starters are being collected, now, at the HHH--First Phase Contributions thread. You don't have to be a member to read what is written there or view the photos that are posted. In fact, you may even download the Starters that have been uploaded there already!

NOTE 2: If you don't want to participate in the comparisons project, feel free to construct some Community Lots for us! Our new resident Sims will need someplace to go in their new community, for the necessities of life and the furthering of their social skills.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING--COME AGAIN SOON!
