The Neighborly Sims website has come to a crossroads. I intend to keep on supporting The Sims 2 with downloadable neighborhoods and other files, for some time to come. However, most of us in the Simming community are now involved in learning how to play The Sims 3. This means that the focus is currently on uploading and downloading lots and Sims for the new game, rather than the older one.
Additionally, my own life has taken some major turns over the last six months, and I find that I no longer have the same amount of dedicated time for the website that I used to have. We now live in a different part of the U.S.--in a rural area where internet services are hard to come by. We do have an account with WildBlue (a satellite service), which works pretty well, though somewhat slower than what we've been used to with cable service. We are also limited in our bandwidth usage, which means that I can no longer just upload and/or download huge files at will. Everything has to be closely monitored. We already are receiving WildBlue's highest service package, and we really don't have any options, other than using a second (expensive) satellite dish to attach to some of our computers, in order to equalize our bandwidth usage.
So...as much as I hate the fact, the static part of the Neighborly Sims website has come to an end. The Neighborly Sims Forum, however, is still in existence:
I hope you'll drop by and see what's happening there. We have over 300 members, now, though the active core seems to remain at about 30 members. We have lots of ongoing projects. The main focus, now, is on learning TS3, as I mentioned. One of the things we're hoping to have soon, is the ability to make completely new worlds for the new game--that's an exciting possibility. Since Neighborly Sims has always been focused on creating new and interesting neighborhoods, this is my ultimate goal for TS3. In the meantime, we're sharing new textures, new Sims, new lots, plus blank and renovated worlds.
There are still many areas of the forum focused on TS2, and lots of downloads for your TS2 game. Come on over and discuss the game with us. We are a warm welcoming group, who would love to meet you!
