userStartup.cheat
UPDATED FOR "OPEN FOR BUSINESS"

Click on the above file link to download a copy of (most of) the .cheat file I use in my own game. Once you download it, place it in the following folder:

My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Config

You should print a copy of it for reference, because it contains shortcuts for typing into the cheat console. All the "alias" lines are the shortcuts. For instance, if you have this document in your Config folder, you will be able to just type in "c" when you want the "boolprop constrainfloorelevation false" cheat to be used. You then type in "c-" when you want to turn that cheat off and return to the normal game parameters.

You can easily edit the file using Notepad or WordPad (or any other text editor). Just be sure you always save it as a .cheat file.

At the top of the list there's a line that will make your lot numbers show up when you hover over the lots in the neighborhood. This relates to the numbers that are in the Lots Catalog in your game files.

The second line changes the game's TV's to a more bearable volume. You can make the volume louder, softer, or do away with that line--up to you. You can change the next line to a number up to 8. I keep my visitors limited to 6, because of my slower processor. I have my highest allowed level set to 10, because that's about all my machine will handle. You can make it any number you like.

Down near the bottom (before the new OFB cheats), is the cheat to change the slope of the roofs. After you type in "rsa" you must make a space and add a number from 15 to 75. 15 is almost flat. I believe 45 is the default. Do some experimenting. Unfortunately, the roof angles cheat changes ALL the roofs on a lot, not just one. This cheat works with the new OFB domes and spires, too.

Above all...have fun! :-)
