Though I hated to do it, I've come up with some basic rules. I hope everyone will take a look. They're pretty simple and straightforward, and there are only a few.

Carrie started this, by sharing some WONDERFUL recipes in the Let's Talk forum. Kim asked about setting up a forum by THIS name, and here you have it! Mmmm...let's talk FOOD!!!

If you'd like to talk about something other than the game, here's the place to do so. This would usually be called something like "Off-Topic Discussion."

I know we have jokes scattered around everywhere, but I decided to make a whole forum for them. Ready? Begin!

We all have our "soapboxes" (things we would gladly get up on a box or stage, to pronounce) about things that happen in our daily lives. If you have one (or more) that you'd dearly like to share, please feel free to VENT! REMEMBER, THOUGH...this is NOT meant to be an abusive forum, and please do NOT make personal comments. This is about things around you IN GENERAL, that just get to you. If it gets out of control, this forum will come down!

Here's the place to look for the news reports found all over the internet, concerning The Sims 3. If you've seen something at another forum, please let us know, and provide links to the articles or screenshots, please.

One thing about The Sims, is that we are always getting new things. Sometimes we think we know all there is to know, even about updates, but there always seems to be someone who finds something that we've never seen before. Let's talk about those things!

This is like FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions). Here you may be able to find answers to your questions about the game, that maybe others have already experienced and discussed.

If you can't find the answer to your problem/question in the "Hints, Tips, and Tutorials" area, here's the place to post. We'll all try to give you the answer, just as soon as possible.

Have you started on something you just HAVE to share, but your're not ready to upload a finished project yet? Feel free to do so, here. Please--no file attachments. Picture attachments are fine, but let's not put any "downloads" here, please.

Do you have a photo or screenshot you'd like to share? It doesn't have to be "something new," or part of an ongoing project. If you just want to share an "aaawww" moment with us, or a giggle or two, here's the place.

Let's play Monopoly! Well...let's build a Monopoly World, anyway. Please read the rules, then download the (very simple and easy) world, and let's get started!

Our members have been busy creating new worlds with CaW. Some of those are beginning to appear here. Also, you may download "blank" copies of Riverview and Sunset Valley--they have not lots on them at all (not even Rabbit Holes), though the spaceholders are all there. Fill up these worlds as you like!

Rabbit Holes cannot actually be entered by your Sims, but they are necessary to their lives. You must have one of each type in each world you are playing, in order for your Sims to have a complete life. In case you're bored with the default landscaping and quantity that show up in either Sunset Valley or Riverview, or if you just want something with a different "flavor," here are some we've created for you to use instead of the "canned" versions from EA.

Here you will find a variety of sizes and types of Residential lots for your Sims to enjoy. Each download page will have an explanation of the lot telling the lot size, a short description, its cost, and whether or not you will need any custom content. Any content that will not package with the lot, will also be attached, or you will be informed where it can be found. Since all CC that can't be packaged, will be replaced in a lot by similar items, it's up to you whether or not you decide to download any of the CC. All lots will function correctly, even if there are items inside that have defaulted to an original state.

Here you will find a variety of specially-crafted Sims for your game. Each Sim will be a full being, with personality traits and skills of some type. Each download page will have an explanation of the Sim telling about those things, and whether or not you will need any custom content. Any content that will not package with the Sim, will also be attached, or you will be informed where it can be found. Since all CC that can't be packaged, will be replaced on a Sim by similar meshes or patterns, it's up to you whether or not you decide to download any of the CC. All Sims will function correctly, even if they are wearing items that have defaulted to an original state.

These Patterns/Textures are simply recolors of the ones that are already offered in the Sims 3 game. Since recolored original Patterns package with Lots and Sims, you won't be notified if they are part of another download. However, it won't hurt to go ahead and download all the recolors you like, since the game will tell you whether or not the Pattern is already installed, if you try to install it after receiving the same one inside a Lot or on a Sim.

These Patterns/Textures have been completely created by our members, for your downloading pleasure. Before you add any of these files to your game, you will need to download a special "Resources.cfg" file, you MUST read the instructions found with that file, and then you MUST place the downloaded Pattern files where the instructions tell you. It's not hard, but you must do it exactly right...just follow the easy instructions and you'll be fine. Remember, though, it's YOUR responsibility to follow the instructions, and YOUR liability, if you don't.

All the Objects (such as tables, chairs, sofas, beds, trash cans, etc.) you'll find here have been recolored from the originals, with either our members' own Pattern Recolors, OR their own created Custom Patterns. If the Patterns involved are CC, you will find the same instructions and link to the "Resources.cfg" file that you'll find in the Custom Patterns area. Be sure to follow those instructions carefully, in order for your downloads to work.

Recently, some of our modding community have figured out how to get some more Paintings into our Sims' homes (and Community lots). We have at least one member who has figured it out, and more will follow, I'm sure. Here you'll be able to find new Paintings for your Sims to enjoy. For some of them, the links may take you to other sites or forums, where you may have to sign up for free membership, which is usually very quick and easy.

Hooray! Our intrepid modding community has given us some tools by which we can alter the style of clothing our Sims can buy and wear! Lisa has given us a special tutorial regarding the use of the new tools, and she'll be the first to make us some downloadable, completely new clothing for our Sims! All clothing downloaded from this section may be recolored in the game, as usual.
