Well here is a little beach to go along with Kims Beautiful Beach Club. I've placed it on the 60x60 lot next to The Beach Club (it was a residential lot that I rezoned to community). This outside beach lot has a picknick area with bbq pit and tables, play areas for the kiddos, fire pit, sunning area, sitting areas just for watching or relaxing (along the entry fence) and public facilities that include showers. Sims can fish here.
wow...this is a really beautiful place, very stunning

What a fantastic beach Okie there's something for every sim to do here.

Thank you both! I sim tested and was happy to see that it worked just fine. I had originally created this lot for a contest in the Sunset Beach area and wasn't sure I would be able to place it and use it. But it placed fine and a little digging for water and smoothing some edges and it wasn't too bad. Thanks again! :)
Got it, thanks! It irks me that our Sims can FISH at the beach, but not swim in the water! But at least we can have the LOOK of a swimmable beach, and this one is really lovely!
This is great Okie. I love that you fixed it so it would go well with the other beach lot. Thanks so much.

Oh, me too! To think that the main "World" that came with the game included a beautiful shore line with beach - yet, they did not include the ability for the Sims to swim in it is very disappointing. We know they have the techology. Thank you! :)

Yes, Kim's lot is so gorgeous and I was hoping to compliment it with my additional beach area, which isn't nearly as nice as hers; but I thought it would work well beside her lot. Thank You! :)
I did discover how to put a pool "under" the beach water (see my Aquatica lot). But you have to be careful to leave enough room for the Sims to get in and out, at the edges of the pool...you have to strike a happy balance between the pool water and the pond water.
The problem with USING that method on a BEACH lot, is that no matter what you do, the lot immediately becomes a POOL, rather than a BEACH! Grrr...
I didn't even think about trying a pool! Very Interesting. I guess, though it would not matter what it was called, it could still look like a beach. I find it interesting that the Sims don't change into their bathing suits though, unless you tell them to, when they are at the "Beach". One good change with Sims 3 is you really don't need a dresser or changing room - you can just click on the sim and have them change. I like that. Of course, I still use the dressers for decorative purposes in the bedrooms. I wish they had closets ... :)
Yes! Closets! I think it was VERY bad of EA to give us the gorgeous closets right at the end, and then take them away again!!! What were they thinking?! I guess the tradeoff was toilet paper rolls for the bathrooms!!!

So true about the closets! I love using them in TS2.
Don't put a pool on your Beach lot if you want it tagged as a Beach. Thats what I did and had to remove it. :-(Your Beach is really Fantastic Okie.

I didn't want to mess up my beach by trying to hide a pool in it. So I am glad that I didn't now, for sure! Thank you so much playKim!!
I had just added a beach side pool for those Sims who dont like sand in their suits...in other words I always like my sims to have plenty to do. The pool looked nice and just took over and tagged my beach as a pool. Just Like to many flower pots make a park a art gallery???

Well, I love your lot! It is so beautiful and it is perfect. My lot, which I had built some time ago for a Summer Beach Contest, I hope is just a compliment to yours, with the re-work I did for placement in the Rivertown layout rather than where it was originally built. I think it is wonderful that you have the addition of the pool on your lot, because you are right about giving the sims more to do. And the fact that they can only fish on my lot - LOL! A Beach and they can't even swim there! LOL! What was EA thinking?

Kim ultimately did take out the swimming pool, because as soon as you add a pool, the lot ceases to be a beach!
I have been really wondering what in the heck EA was thinking about that!!!
Oh wow I so love it Okie u have done a fab job here
